Year 5 STEM

During the second half of the Autumn term, Year 5 at Padstow school were lucky enough to have a 3D printer donated to them from 3D Printing Cornwall. They used the printer to create some Viking artefacts linked to their topic.
They then began to develop a design and business plan to create a product that could be sold at the Christmas Fayre run by the Friends of Padstow School. The children decided to make Christmas decorations on the 3D printer. They then designed, planned and calculated the cost of the decoration and had a meeting about an appropriate retail cost and the profit they would hope to make.
The Fayre was very successful with year 5 making a profit of £30.80 which they donated to the Friends of Padstow school.
Who knows what the next business venture may be?
